Travel Winter Training January & February 2021

Youth soccer players have many favorite soccer stars like Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Kevin de Bruyne, Harry Kane, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

Have you ever thought as to why these stars are liked so much? Well, beside their ability to score amazing goals it's their flashy foot skills that make them the best in the world. These players are always in control of the ball and have the ability to pass defenders using their skills and moves. CSA winter sessions are based on being in control of the ball and having the creativity to use these skills and moves to pass the defender and create space. The basic skills of the best players in the world are now the foundation of our unique fast footwork curriculum and sessions. The goal of learning these skills is to be comfortable and creative with the ball and take on defenders in various situations.

Week 1-4

CSA will focus on using the moves without pressure. The pressure is the ball, the move and changing the direction. We start with learning different moves to change into different directions to create space, overloads or the opportunity to score.

Week 5-8

CSA will add more moves from our curriculum, challenging moves that with work develop balance and understanding angles of approach. CSA will also increase the pressure to each move creating challenging situations for our players to meet. The CSA trainer will work on making players more confident with the ball and understand how to dominate the defender in 1 v 1 situations.

All CSA classes are focused on individual player development and to create a wealth of skills to complement their team development.

Why do this class with CSA?

CSA will teach that an attack starts with the goalkeeper and building out from the back. CSA understands that this is better for the development of the players and much more fun. CSA will encourage players and work with players to be creative and comfortable with the ball. This is one of the many things players will learn during our classes. Every player on the field should be able to read the game, use a move and be confident to keep possession. In our curriculum every player works on the fundamental skills to be comfortable creative and build to attack from anywhere on the field. This development comes with our practices, street soccer sessions, futsal style small sided games and scrimmages. Players will work on the technical elements of the game such as their first touch, dribbling, individual skills, moves, passing and shooting.
