Testimonials
We have asked our clients to share their opinion of Cheshire Soccer ?
To Whom
It has been a pleasure working with Cheshire Soccer for the past two seasons to elevate the level of Rockaway Township Soccer program. For both seasons, most of the teams have moved up to higher flight and the players are getting better with your training. Six teams won their flights, one came in second and three came in third. That is nine out of twelve teams placed in top three. It was definitely an improvement from the previous season and we look forward to another successful season.
As you know we interviewed several companies to contract our training. RTSA board chose Cheshire Soccer to train our teams as we all felt that we can work with you and you would customize the training for each team as needed. I am also glad that you listen to our comments, concerns and take appropriate actions with any trainer or training issues.
As the Head Coach for Rockaway Township Soccer Association, I am very pleased at our working relationship and I hope to continue to grow our program to a higher level of play, better skilled and smarter soccer players in Rockaway. Thank You.
Nitin Daniels
RTSA – Head Coach

I have known Rob Howell for over 4 years and have seen his skill in coaching and his connection with the kids in the Montville Soccer travel program. He is very good at fashioning drills that will bring game skills to the players or to adapt a training session to focus on what particular portion of the game the coach thinks is a priority that week. He is well versed on strategy and talented with in-game tactical changes and has really helped improve the teams he has worked with. I was so impressed with the work he did on my daughter’s travel team over the years that I requested that Rob train the U9 boy’s team that I coach and he helped us to win the flight in the spring 2010 season.
Personally, Rob is involved with the kids he coaches. He wants a game update on Sunday nights after the travel games are over and wants to know in what facets of the game the kids improved in, and in what areas they may need additional training, if he was not attending/watching the games. He has a great connection to the kids and is supportive in his comments, but also manages to challenge the players to succeed. It is a great combination and I think he would be a fantastic addition to any coaching/training staff.

We have been working with Rob Howell for three years, and would recommend and encourage anyone who needs a trainer to hire him. I coach a U 13 girls team and Rob has had most of the girls for three years, and the differences in skill level, game awareness, personal fitness, and love of the game have all increased dramatically.
Our team is playing soccer and learning the right way. We spend a great deal of time on the team concept, covering for one another, moving without the ball, communicating on the field, and working the ball forward; not playing kick and chase like most teams we are playing. I have received comments from many coaches about how well we play as a team. This is the result of how Rob approaches the game, and how he approaches teaching the team.
His commitment to our team is unwavering. He often shows up at games so he can better prepare the team based on what he sees in game conditions. When his schedule allows, Rob stays after practice to work with anyone who wants to and is always a positive force on the field. The practices are a great combination of hard work and fun, and Rob has an innate ability to know how and when to adjust to maximize our practices.

Rob took over my U11 team for the spring of 2010 and he was exactly what I was looking for in his philosophy of training, his work ethic, his commitment to the game and team and his love of the sport and his work. He turned this team around and they now a really enjoying the game. He works extremely well with both the younger and older girls and has the ability to create a fun atmosphere for them but at the same time teaching them all aspects of the game and build a training relationship with each of them.
He has never missed or canceled a training a session and is always willing to work more with any player if they ask for it and don’t be surprised if he just shows up at game to watch and see what he should work on at the next training session. If he didn’t get a chance to see the game, he will call to talk how the team and players did.
He is very dedicated and I plan to continue to use Rob as my trainer.

“Our 7, 8 and 10 year old daughters began training with Coach Rob in the summer of 2009. Coach Rob’s training sessions create a learning environment that is fun, yet challenging for all 3 of our girls ability levels. He is always encouraging and enthusiastic and the individual player attention is fabulous. Coach Rob has a way of connecting to his players, his coaching philosophy and passion for the game has created an overall positive experience. Our daughter’s skills and enthusiasm for the game of soccer have improved significantly working with Coach Rob and we look forward to continuing our relationship with him for many years to come.”

As a newcomer to the sport, I am learning more about soccer with each year my daughter plays. As she develops, I develop. No one has been more key in her soccer development than Rob (a.k.a. Coach Chicken). More than teaching my daughter skills and technique, Rob has developed her self-confidence in playing soccer, which has grown into a deep-seeded love for the game. Each session with Rob is a joy and is sprinkled with laughter and fun in between all of the challenging drills. The passion, love and respect Rob has for the game of soccer transcends into his coaching. With complete confidence, I recommend Rob to everyone that I know.

“Simon Moores of Cheshire Soccer has been coaching my teams for the last 3 seasons, taking players from first and second grade recreation to travel in the second and third grades. His ability to motivate the players and educate them in a fun, yet challenging setting makes every player want to show up for all practices and games. Simon also has the ability to develop good rapport and communication with parents and coaches. In my case he incorporated my tactical and strategic perspectives into his framework, producing some surprisingly good player and team results”.

“Simon… I wanted to thank you for all your support, time and commitment these past 3 seasons. We have grown tremendously as a team with you assisting us. Bringing in your assistant AJ to assist with goal tending has also been a great tool for the players. The amount of dedication and devotion you have given team and I goes well beyond the call of duty and I am always impressed with your eagerness to spend additional time whenever I need it. There are not many paid coaches that give so much more time and effort and it is greatly appreciated. If we had the chance to lock you in as the coach for the balance of this teams existence, we would do it right now”.
Thank you, Bryan Seavey, Head Coach, U13G West Morris

“My mens’ team always had capable players but we never seemed to finish above the bottom third of the table. This past winter, Simon Moores of Cheshire Soccer worked with us in indoor training, assisted our player/coach with some pre-season scrimmages and shared coaching duties for our first few regular season games. We’re currently in third. The highest placing I can remember in my few years with the team. Cheshire Soccer training wasn’t the only reason for our improvement, but it was a big part of it and Cheshire’s rates were quite reasonable as well.”
